2015 Popcorn

Our Popcorn 2015 campaign is in full swing. Our goal this year is $13,500. That sounds like a lot but we have approximately 100 scouts in the troop. If everyone participates that means each scout needs to sell $135 worth of popcorn. Please do your best to help us reach our goal. The campaign is shorter this year. All orders need to be turned in by Saturday Oct 17.

I have popcorn available for you to pick up to start your popcorn selling. The popcorn is stored at St. Louis DeMontfort behind the Ministry Center where we have our troop meetings. I will be there each Tuesday from Sep 22 thru Oct 13 from 7:00 to 8:30 to hand out popcorn. You also can call or text me to coordinate additional pick up times if needed.

I can go to Camp Belzer each Tuesday to pick up any items you need that I do not have in stock. Please email me by Sunday night with any items you need so I can place an order for pick up before our Tuesday meeting.

As you sell your popcorn you can turn in money at any troop meeting. Please see me to let me know how much you are turning in. Once I have recorded the amount, you will turn your money in to Mr. Ruddell who will give you a receipt for your payment.

There will be monetary prizes for the top 5 sellers in the troop. These amounts are being finalized and once I know what they are I will send out an update to you and also let the scouts know at the troop meeting.

Prizes will be awarded each Tuesday for the top money deposit each week. Previous prizes have included ice cream gift cards for Handel’s, pizza coupons for Pizza Hut, and Marco’s.

First Year Scouts/Parents:

In Boy Scouts we sell popcorn to earn money for our scout accounts to pay for our campouts. We don’t participate in the prize program. Please make sure your scout knows he will not be able to earn any prizes included in the popcorn flyer. We also do not put together kits together for you to pick up to sell. Based on your past experience you know what sells best for you. Please pick up those items you think you can sell.

Below are the important dates to remember:

Popcorn Pick-up at Troop Meeting: Sep 22, Sep 29, Oct 6, Oct 13
Sale Ends: Oct 17
Final Popcorn Delivery: Nov 14
Final Payments: Dec 1

If you have any questions please feel free to email, call, or text me. I want to help your scout have a successful popcorn campaign.

Thanks for your help,

Tom Studer
